Just North of Taos, New Mexico lies a 19 mile stretch of private land designated for these wild horses. There is little for their sustenance but sage and desert grasses, yet, somehow they manage to survive. Each season of every year they permit me to enter their sacred ground and photograph them with their young. There are no words for what these moments and these animals mean to me; their wild spirit is much like my own. I hope you are able feel in these images, what words cannot provide.
